These executive orders document Governor Thomas E. Bramlette's power and privilege to issue commands and instructions. Included is an order discontinuing the office of corresponding secretary; and an order closing all state offices on September 3, 1867, so that officials could attend the inauguration of governor-elect John Helm, which was held in Elizabethtown because of Helm's poor health.
